CAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who possess a recognized bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks or its equivalent CGPA (45% for candidates of SC/ST/PwD categories) or its equivalent qualification are eligible to apply for CAT 2022. The percentage of marks acquired by candidates will be calculated according to the norms prescribed by the respective university/institution. In case an University/Institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100.
Candidates who are appearing in final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification or those have complete their degree and waiting for the result to be declared are also eligible to apply.

CAT 2022 Application Form
Eligible candidates can register for CAT 2022 by visiting its official website http://www.iimcat.ac.in/. The application form is likely to be available from August 2022 and will end by September 2022. While registering online, it will ask you to choose any six test cities, as per your preference, from a drop-down menu. Here are the steps to apply for CAT 2022 successfully:
Step 1: Register yourself successfully
You need to visit the official website of CAT http://www.iimcat.ac.in/ and click the registration link. Internet Explorer (version 11 and above), Mozilla Firefox (version 50 to 61), Google Chrome (version 50 to 69) are recommended browsers for a successful registration for CAT exam. Submit your registration form to get your unique USER ID and password. During registration, you’ll be asked to enter details like your name, date of birth, email address, mobile number etc.
Step 2: Login to the CAT official website
You need to visit the official website of CAT http://www.iimcat.ac.in/ and login to your account with already generated user ID and password. You’ll receive your user ID and password to your registered email ID.
Step 3: Fill up the application form
Fill up your application form carefully with required details. The application form has been divided into six major sections:

Registration Fee
- 1100 for SC, ST and PwD category candidates.

CAT 2022 Exam Pattern
Please find below the prescribed exam pattern for CAT 2022:
- Mode of exam: The exam will be held in online mode. It will be a computer based test.
- Questions’ type: You’ll find objective as well as non-objective type questions in the paper.
- Exam duration: The exam will be conducted over duration of 2 hours.
- Marks for correct answers: For each correct attempt, 3 marks will be added to the total.
- Negative marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect attempt.

CAT 2022 Admit Card
The exam conducting authority will release CAT 2022 admit card in online mode. Only successfully registered candidates are allowed to download their admit card. Candidates can visit the official website of IIM CAT to download their respective admit card.
The admit card is a compulsory document to bring while coming to the examination centre. No candidate under any circumstances will be allowed to appear for CAT 2022 without a valid admit card.
Also keep your admit card safe till the admission reaches to its end as it will be also required to bring during counselling.
CAT 2022 Result
The scorecards of CAT will be available to download at CAT official website. Candidates will be notified regarding the availability of admit card individually through SMS. CAT 2022 result is likely to release by second week of January 2023.
Candidates can download their scorecards within the given deadline upon which no such queries will be entertained.
