CTET 2022: Eligibility, Online Application form, Syllabus, Exam Pattern

CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test. This examination is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to determine the eligibility of candidates who wants to be a teacher. Please note that it is compulsory to clear the CTET examination in order to become a teacher in schools operated by the Central Government. Those candidates who are looking to apply need to fill and submit application form before the last date. The examination is conducted twice a year. The examination will take place in online mode. CTET Eligibility Criteria 2022

Only those candidates are eligible to apply for the CTET 2022 exam meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age to apply for CTET 2022 is 18 years. There is no maximum age limit.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification requirements are different for both paper – I and paper – II.

CTET Paper 1 Educational Qualification 2022 (for Primary Teachers) – Teacher of class 1st to 5th

Candidates should possess any of the following educational qualifications.

  • Aspirants should have Senior Secondary or Class 12 exams with minimum 50 % marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed) (by whatever name known).
  • Candidates must have 10+2 or an equivalent exam with a minimum of 45 % marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with rules mentioned in NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
  • Applicants should have cleared Class 12 exams with a minimum of 50 % marks and passed or appearing in the final year of four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Candidates must have cleared 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of two-year Diploma in Special Education.
  • Aspirants must have completed graduation in any stream with a minimum of 50 % marks and a B.Ed.

CTET Paper 2 Educational Qualification 2022 (for Elementary Teachers) – Teacher of class 5th to 8th

Candidates should meet any of the following educational qualification requirement.

  • Aspirants must have completed graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed).
  • Candidates should have passed graduation with minimum 50 % marks and passed or appearing in one-year BEd course.
  • Applicants must have completed graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and passed or appearing in one-year BEd in accordance with the rules and norms of NCTE.
  • Candidates should have cleared class 12th or equivalent exams with a minimum of 50 % marks and passed or appearing in the final year of four-year B.El.Ed.
  • Aspirants must have cleared lass 12 exams with a minimum of 50 % marks and passed or appearing in the final year of four-year BA/ BSc.Ed or BA.Ed/ BSc.Ed.
  • Candidates should have completed graduation with minimum 50 % marks and passed or appearing in one-year B.Ed in Special Education.

CTET Application Form 2022

The application process of CTET 2022 is completely online. Those who are looking to apply need to submit the application form through the official website. Given below are the steps that you can follow in order to apply.

  • First of all, you need to visit the official website for CTET Application 2022 i.e. ctet.nic.in.
  • On the official website, you will find the link to the application form on the home page. You need to click on that link.
  • Then, you need to complete the part – I registration by entering a few of your basic details like name, email address, phone number, etc. The login credentials will be generated after part I registration.
  • After that, you will have to log in and access the main application form.
  • In the main application form, you will have to enter your complete educational, personal, and contact details.
  • Apart from the details, it is necessary for you to upload your scanned images of passport size photograph and signature.
  • Make sure you upload your photograph and signature as per the specifications mentioned on the official website.
  • It is also compulsory for you to pay the necessary application fee along with the form.
  • Finally, take a printout of the application form submitted and keep it safe for future requirements.

Mode of payment

  • Offline Mode – In offline mode, candidates can pay the fees through a Canara Bank Challan.
  • Online Mode – In online mode, aspirants can pay the fees using a credit card, debit card, or internet banking.

CTET 2022 Admit Card

  • The candidates may download the admit card through the CTET official website.
  • To download the admit card, candidates will have to provide their registration number and date of birth.
  • In case of any discrepancy noticed in e-admit card regarding particulars of candidate, photograph and signature or any other information which is different from confirmation page, he/she may immediately contact CTET unit for necessary corrections.
  • The information about the date, time, and venue of the examination will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • It is also compulsory for candidates to carry their one photo ID proof at the examination centre.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without an admit card.

CTET Syllabus 2022

The subject-wise syllabus of the CTET 2022 examination is given below.

  • Child Development and Pedagogy – Child Development, Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs, Learning and Pedagogy, etc.
  • Language I – Reading unseen passages – two passages one prose or drama and one poem with questions on comprehension, inference, grammar and verbal ability (Prose passage may be literary, scientific, narrative or discursive), Learning and acquisition, Principles of language Teaching, Role of listening and speaking; function of language and how children use it as a tool, Critical perspective on the role of grammar in learning a language for communicating ideas, verbally and in written form, Challenges of teaching language in a diverse classroom; language difficulties, errors and disorders, Language Skills, Evaluating language comprehension and proficiency: speaking, listening, reading and writing, Teaching- learning materials: Textbook, multi-media materials, multilingual resource of the classroom, Remedial Teaching.
  • Language II – The same as of Language I.
  • Mathematics – Geometry, Shapes & Spatial Understanding, Solids around Us, Numbers, Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Measurement, Weight, Time, Volume, Data Handling, Patterns, Money, and Pedagogical Issues.
  • Environmental Studies – Family and Friends: Relationships, Work and Play, Animals, Plants, Food, Shelter, Water, Travel, Things We Make and Do, and Pedagogical Issues.
  • Science – Food, Materials, The World of the Living, Moving Things People and Ideas, Electric current and circuits, Magnets, Natural Phenomena, Natural Resources, Pedagogical issues

CTET 2022 Answer Keys

  • Soon after the examination, CBSE will release the preliminary answer keys on the official website.
  • With the help of these keys, a candidate can match his answers with the correct one.
  • If a candidate is not satisfied with any answer key then he can challenge the same by paying a fee.
  • After considering all the challenges, CBSE will release the final answer key. A candidate is not allowed to challenge the final answer key.

Result

  • The result will be prepared on the basis of the final answer key.
  • To check the result, candidates have to visit the official website and provide their roll numbers and other details.
  • The qualifying marks are 60% i.e. 90 marks out of 150. School managements (Government, local bodies, government-aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to person belonging to SC/ ST, OBC, differently-abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy.
  • There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of the result. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
  • The CTET 2022 certificate will remain valid for a lifetime. Earlier, its validity was 7 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

 Question – 1: I don’t have access to the computer. Can I submit the form offline?

Answer: No, the application process will take place in online mode only. You can use your smart phone as well in case you don’t have a computer. CBSE will not accept offline application forms.

Question – 2: Can I pay the application fee offline?

Answer: Yes, you can pay the application fee offline by submitting a bank challan at any branch of the Canara bank.

Question – 3: Will there be any negative marking in the exam?

Answer: No, there will not be any negative marking.
